1. Acceptance of This Agreement
By accessing or using CareerLight (“CareerLight,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to this combined Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (“Agreement”).
If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
CareerLight is operated by Career Light LLC and managed by Zebraa Corp.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 15 years old to use CareerLight.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have obtained any legally required parental or guardian consent.
3. Description of Services
CareerLight is a competency-based career navigation platform that helps users:
Map skills and competencies
Identify career pathways
Assess skill gaps
Receive career-related guidance
Connect with vetted recruiters, universities, and educational institutions
Use “Avi,” an AI-powered virtual career guide
CareerLight provides informational and developmental tools only.
We do not guarantee employment, interviews, job offers, admission to educational institutions, or career outcomes.
4. AI-Powered Guidance (Avi)
CareerLight includes “Avi,” an AI-powered career mentor powered in part by OpenAI.
By using Avi, you acknowledge and agree:
AI-generated responses may contain inaccuracies or errors.
AI outputs are for informational and educational purposes only.
AI guidance does not constitute professional, legal, financial, or employment advice.
You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on information provided by the App.
Career Light LLC and Zebraa Corp are not liable for outcomes resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.
5. User Accounts
To use CareerLight, you must create an account using your email address and password.
You agree to:
Provide accurate and truthful information.
Keep your login credentials confidential.
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Agreement.
6. User Content
You may provide or upload:
Resume content
Education history
Work history
Skills and competencies
Career goals
Chat conversations with Avi
Professional profile information
You retain ownership of your content.
By submitting content, you grant CareerLight a limited, non-exclusive license to:
Process and analyze your content
Map competencies
Generate career recommendations
Provide AI-driven guidance
Improve our services and systems
7. Data Sharing With Partners
CareerLight works with vetted recruiters, universities, and educational institutions.
Your information will only be shared when you:
Express interest in a job, internship, or opportunity; or
Affirmatively choose to pursue a specific opportunity.
Information is not shared automatically.
Once shared at your direction, third parties are responsible for their own privacy practices and data handling.
We are not responsible for how third parties use your information after it has been shared at your request.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Use the App for unlawful purposes
Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information
Harass, threaten, or impersonate others
Attempt to interfere with or reverse engineer the App
Misuse AI tools
Engage in harmful, abusive, or fraudulent activity
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
9. No Guarantees
CareerLight does not guarantee:
Employment or job placement
Interviews or offers
Admission to educational programs
Career advancement
Accuracy of AI-generated guidance
Use of the App is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Career Light LLC and Zebraa Corp are not liable for:
Career decisions
Employment outcomes
Educational admissions
Indirect or consequential damages
Loss of income, opportunity, or reputation
Your use of CareerLight is voluntary and at your own risk.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate this Agreement.
12. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States.
